The MADI Path to Sustainability

At MADI, we’ve always believed that the most beautiful things in life shouldn’t come at the expense of the planet. When we founded our workshop, we didn't just want to create jewelry; we wanted to create a brand where handcrafted artistry meets a genuine commitment to the Earth.

Today, we’re pulling back the curtain on what that looks like in practice.

The Reality of Recycled Metals

Sustainability isn't a destination for us—it’s a constant, evolving journey. While many brands might lean into "green" buzzwords, we prefer transparency.

Currently, approximately 40% of the silver and gold used in our jewelry is recycled. Why isn't it 100% yet? Sourcing high-quality, ethically reclaimed metals while maintaining the structural integrity of our unique designs is a challenge we tackle every day. That 40% represents a massive reduction in mining impact compared to traditional jewelry, and it’s a figure we are working to grow with every new collection we cast.

Why Every Ounce Counts

Even at 40%, the impact is significant. Using recycled precious metals helps:

  • Reduce Waste: Reclaiming metal from existing jewelry and industrial scraps keeps it out of the waste stream.

  • Lower Carbon Footprints: Refining recycled metal uses significantly less energy than mining raw ore from the ground.

  • Preserve Resources: It allows us to honor the "circular" nature of gold and silver—metals that can be melted and reborn infinitely without losing their luster.

Crafted by Hand, Heart, and Workshop

At the MADI workshop, "handmade" isn't a marketing term—it's how we breathe life into our designs. Because we work directly with the metal in our own space, we have total control over our process.

Every ring, necklace, and bracelet is handcrafted by artisans who care as much about the environment as they do about the perfect finish. This "slow jewelry" approach ensures that your piece isn't just a fleeting trend, but a durable treasure built to last.

"We aren't chasing perfection; we're chasing progress. Every piece of MADI jewelry is a step toward a more sustainable future."

A Shared Journey

We’re proud of where we are, but we’re even more excited about where we’re going. By choosing MADI, you’re supporting a small workshop that chooses honesty over hype and craftsmanship over mass production.

Does knowing the specific percentage of recycled materials in a product change how you feel about its value?

With Love,

M.A.D.I. team
